Softened

Will likes to keep up with Luke and Bridget all day long but is always the first one to crash once we get him to lay down for a story at night. So these long summer days are taking their toll on him; though he'd never admit it! He's at the stage where if you call something cute, he corrects you and says, "Cool." If you give him a kiss he quickly wipes it off (he says he's rubbing it in so I don't mind). And if you say he needs a nap he says, "I don't want a rest, a break, a nap or a quiet time." Adam likes to quote the prince from the movie, 'Enchanted,' and as soon as he starts singing, "I've been dreaming of a true loves kiss...," or yelling out, "Gizelle!!" Will says, "Don't talk to me about that girl stuff!"

But one thing that always softens him is baby Jonah. He gives him hundreds of kisses every day and if I am holding Jonah while he is giving him a kiss he likes me to kiss his head at the same time! He also has the sweetest voice he uses only for making Jonah smile. I'm so glad Jonah has that effect on him. (Actually he has that effect on all of us!)

Our Bear Scout

This summer Luke has been busy completing the requirements to earn his Bear. He only has one more achievement left. He has also been working on earning belt loops and pins. We are all enjoying this first scouting experience in our family...Bridget and Will especially love attending Pack Meeting with Luke every month. I am the cub scout secretary so I enjoy getting a closer look at how it all works. Luke loves coming to the Scout shop with me to pick up the awards.

Fathers and Sons/ Mom and Daughter

The boys look forward to this every year! Adam has been taking Luke since he was two! This year may have been the best so far; they threw an air mattress in the back of the van, took Adam's laptop and stopped by a redbox to pick up "Waterhorse" on their way. So after the hot dogs were eaten, sling shots carved and put together, dessert eaten, camp fire songs sung etc, etc, these boys curled up in the van to watch a movie!! Now that's campin'!!!

Meanwhile, Bridget and Jonah and I went to Rumbi Island Grill to have some orange chicken(Bridget's all time favorite) and stir fry. Later, we made some bows at our next door neighbor's house, and then curled up with some yummy treats to watch "Barbie's 12 dancing princesses." So fun!

Jonah's Blessing Day

This was such a beautiful day! We are so happy that our parents were able to be here to enjoy Jonah's special day with us.

Taking the family picture was quite a challenge. Luke barely held on for this picture and immediately hit the ground after it was shot. Will is over by the front door with his back turned to us...absolutely refusing to be any part of it. But just for the record he was there for this!
