Utah Autumn Evening

A beautiful evening walk around Silver Lake, at Brighton Ski Resort. Adam's parents and sisters were in town for their Grandma Packer's birthday celebration, so we spent the evening up Big Cottonwood Canyon. What a beauty overload; sights, smells, feel of the crisp air. Mmmm, I love being in the mountains. Especially when I'm with family! It was a fun night, complete with roasted hot dogs and s'mores.

Poor worms?

Just after the kids went to school Jonah and I needed a diversion, something important to do together. Due to the previous nights rain showers there were worms sprawling all over our street. I decided to introduce Jonah to the scene. I'm sure he doesn't remember seeing a real live worm before! And what do you know, he was very intrigued. I told him that the rain had filled up their homes with water, and now they had to find a new home in the grass. "Uh-huh," he responded to every new fact. We walked from worm to worm, identifying them as Daddy-one, or baby-one. Then Jonah's daddy came out with a bug container and the idea of a worm hunt and Jonah was in! They resqued a big, slimy, juicy(bleh) pile of worms and brought them to our lawn to find homes. Nice job boys, way to save the day for those worms!

Can you multiply?

I found a gem at the local library:

Laugh, if you must, we do, but we love it - everyone is completely mastering the times tables.

Will is going to share the three's song with his first grade class tomorrow,"when the teacher asks if there is anything we want to share"...oh to be a fly on the wall. He is so cute with the rhythm and the way his words whistle because of the space in his mouth where two teeth used to be.

Sunny fall days

A few moments in the afternoon sun (and later that evening)with Violet.

Family Picture

We had our neighbor snap this just before we made a mad dash to church.

Uh doe Whoops Y U dame

(How Jonah asked to go to Luke's football game from the backseat)

Any sports jersey is YYU. If Will is wearing it: Whoa(Will) Y U. If Luke is wearing it: Whoop Y U. Dadden Y U. You get the picture. BYU is all the talk around here!

Luke is totally enjoying his first season of tackle football. He is number 83...I hope you can spot him. Squint. (I'm afraid I'm going to have to find a telephoto lens if I'm going to catch anything at his games)
Something I've learned is that all the bumps and bruises you get playing tackle football are like medals of honor to boys. Ouch! His fore arms are always covered in bruises after practice. At first I didn't think arm bands were necessary but now maybe so.

This afternoon Luke found a white board lying on his bed which read: "Luke, You need to take a shower and make your bed. From Bridget Sign your first and last name here: "
She was writing notes to him all afternoon on it. As she passed him on the stairs she held it up and it said, "Hello!"
